ASL is a non-profit organisation. It operates in accordance with relevant international standards and requirements and maintains integrity and objectivity while taking into account national and public interest. ASL has established an independent, impartial and transparent accreditation system. As a non-profit accreditation body, decisions taken by ASL are not subject to any commercial or financial obligations.
ASL represents the interests of stakeholders at international forums through membership and active participation as well as ensuring measures to safeguard the impartiality and objectivity of its accreditation process.
The ASL accredits certification bodies for various management system schemes according to ISO/IEC 17021 and the Association of Healthcare Providers (AHPI) scheme - Green and Clean Hospital Management System Scheme (GCHMS-Part I) for hospitals and Green and Clean Hospitality Management System Scheme (GCHMS-Part II) for safe and healthy workplaces, personnel certification bodies according to ISO/IEC 17024, testing and calibration laboratories according to ISO/IEC 17025, inspection bodies according to ISO/IEC 17020, based on the assessment of their competence according to its criteria and in accordance with ASL and international standards and guidelines. The ASL accreditation schemes for medical imaging centers according to ISO 15189 and certification bodies according to ISO/IEC 17065 are subject to revision and will be available for accreditation in the near future.
